Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive neighborhood revitalization strategies
- Analyze zoning codes and propose modernization initiatives
- Lead public engagement sessions for major development projects
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and land use studies
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies on grant-funded initiatives
- Manage project budgets and reporting compliance
- Mentor junior planning staff and interns
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal planning experience
- Michigan AICP certification required
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD
- Demonstrated experience with community outreach
- Knowledge of Detroit's zoning ordinances
- Strong analytical writing and presentation skills
- Valid Michigan driver's license
