Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive urban development projects from conception to completion
- Analyze zoning regulations and recommend policy improvements
- Coordinate with community stakeholders and public agencies
- Prepare environmental impact assessments and feasibility studies
- Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with municipal codes
- Present recommendations to the Planning Commission and City Council
- Mentor junior planners and supervise technical staff
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of urban planning experience in government or public sector
- Professional Planner certification (AICP) preferred
- Expertise in Chicago zoning ordinances and municipal processes
- Strong GIS mapping and data analysis skills
- Proven ability to manage complex public projects
