Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive urban planning projects across NYC's diverse neighborhoods
- Analyze zoning regulations and propose policy reforms to promote sustainable development
- Coordinate with community boards, elected officials, and private developers
- Prepare environmental impact statements and land use applications
- Manage GIS mapping and spatial analysis for urban design projects
- Present planning proposals to City Council and public hearings
- Develop long-term strategic plans for transportation and infrastructure
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal government or urban planning
- Expert knowledge of NYC Zoning Resolution and Uniform Land Use Review Procedure
- Advanced proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills
- NYC residency required within 90 days of hire
- Valid New York State driver's license
