Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive plan implementation and zoning code revisions
- Analyze development proposals for compliance with city policies
- Facilitate community engagement sessions and public hearings
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for City Council
- Coordinate with engineering and public works departments
- Manage long-range planning initiatives for urban corridors
- Conduct site inspections and feasibility studies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning or related field
- 5+ years of municipal planning experience
- Minnesota AICP certification required
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS)
- Demonstrated project management expertise
- Strong analytical and public speaking abilities
- Knowledge of MN building codes and environmental regulations
- Experience with community-based participatory planning
