Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (excavators, graders, dump trucks)
- Perform road repairs, sidewalk installations, and drainage system maintenance
- Assist in snow removal and emergency storm response operations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety compliance checks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Class CDL license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in construction/public works or heavy equipment operation
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills
- Residency in Jersey City or surrounding Hudson County preferred
