Responsibilities
- Operate heavy-duty packer trucks and collection vehicles to empty garbage and recycling containers along designated routes.
- Ensure proper sorting of recyclable materials to meet environmental standards.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of collection vehicles to ensure safety and mechanical integrity.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including the truck cab and loading areas.
- Communicate effectively with residents regarding collection schedules, missed pickups, or service issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and municipal regulations while driving.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Tennessee Class D Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination, including drug screening and background check.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently and over 100 pounds occasionally.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to follow safety instructions.
