Responsibilities
- Monitor facility grounds and patient areas during night hours to prevent unauthorized access and ensure safety protocols
- Respond to medical emergencies, behavioral incidents, and security breaches with de-escalation techniques
- Operate CCTV systems, access control panels, and alarm monitoring equipment
- Conduct thorough perimeter checks and document all observations in security logs
- Coordinate with nursing staff and clinical teams during crisis interventions
- Enforce state hospital policies regarding visitor screening and patient movement
- Prepare detailed incident reports for regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license
- Minimum 1 year security or law enforcement experience
- Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and mental health facility regulations
