Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and security of the state government's local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
- Implement and monitor advanced cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive citizen data and government assets from cyber threats.
- Manage cloud migration projects, ensuring seamless transition and minimal downtime for government services.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues for state employees.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal IT standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy scalable IT solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or a related field within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
- Valid certifications such as CCNA, Security+, or PMP are highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Linux, Windows Server, Python scripting, and SQL database management.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
