Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and network infrastructure for state agencies.
- Provide expert technical troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute IT projects and system upgrades on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with state security protocols and data privacy regulations.
- Monitor system performance and perform regular maintenance to prevent downtime and ensure optimal functionality.
- Train and mentor junior staff members on best practices and technical procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong proficiency with Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Valid CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
