Responsibilities
- Member Assistance: Provide accurate information to current and prospective retirees regarding pension calculations, benefit eligibility, and account status via phone and email.
- Data Entry & Processing: Perform high-volume data entry and verification of pension documents with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain and organize physical and digital files, ensuring all member records are up-to-date and compliant with state regulations.
- Issue Resolution: Assist in resolving member inquiries and discrepancies regarding contributions, vesting, and benefit payments.
- Administrative Support: Support the Pension Specialist team with daily clerical duties, including photocopying, scanning, and preparing correspondence.
- Compliance: Adhere to all state privacy laws and internal security protocols regarding sensitive financial data.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration or Finance is a plus.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required. Basic computer proficiency is essential.
- Skills: Strong typing skills (40+ wpm) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Must be highly organized with a keen eye for detail to prevent data errors.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
