Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, including pothole filling and crack sealing.
- Operate heavy equipment such as street sweepers, graders, and jackhammers safely and efficiently.
- Clear snow and ice from roads, sidewalks, and public parking areas during winter months.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and public complaints regarding street conditions.
- Ensure proper disposal of debris and materials collected during maintenance operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic control regulations while working near moving vehicles.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Arizona Class C Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Ability to pass a physical examination and drug screen.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance and operation of heavy machinery.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, including high heat and cold.
