Responsibilities
- Operate street sweeping equipment and dump trucks along assigned routes to maintain clean roadways and alleys.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs to city streets, including pothole filling, crack sealing, and asphalt patching.
- Clear snow, debris, and fallen branches from sidewalks and public rights-of-way during inclement weather.
- Assist in traffic control and flagging operations to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
- Inspect and perform routine maintenance on heavy machinery, hand tools, and safety equipment.
- Respond to emergency service calls related to road hazards and public safety issues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Valid California Class C Driverβs License with a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous manual labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is preferred.
- Must pass a post-offer medical examination and drug screening.
