Responsibilities
- Perform routine highway maintenance including pothole patching, signage repair, and drainage system maintenance
- Operate light machinery (sweepers, dump trucks) under supervision for road clearing operations
- Install traffic control devices and work zone signage per ADOT safety protocols
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned roadway sections to identify hazards
- Assist in emergency response during weather events (flood/dust control)
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and basic operational checks
- Document maintenance activities and submit daily progress reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Class C driver's license with clean MVR
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
