Responsibilities
- Operate sanitation trucks and collection equipment safely and efficiently
- Collect residential/commercial waste and recycling according to city protocols
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Maintain clean and organized work areas at collection sites
- Adhere to all OSHA and city safety regulations
- Document daily operations and report equipment issues
- Assist with emergency snow removal or disaster response as needed
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work 6-8 hour shifts with flexible start times
