Responsibilities
- Design and supervise implementation of transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and traffic management systems
- Conduct traffic impact studies and develop mitigation strategies for urban mobility challenges
- Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, and compliance documentation for state and federal regulations
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and local agencies
- Utilize CAD software (MicroStation/Civil 3D) for drafting and modeling transportation systems
- Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards
- Research and implement emerging transportation technologies (ITS, smart traffic systems)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum 4 years of professional transportation engineering experience
- Valid Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proficiency in transportation modeling software (TransCAD, VISSIM)
- Experience with FDOT design standards and project delivery processes
- Demonstrated project management skills including budget oversight and timeline management
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with ability to present technical information to diverse audiences
- Knowledge of federal/state transportation regulations (FHWA, FDOT)
