Responsibilities
- Design and oversee complex transportation infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, and transit systems
- Lead environmental compliance reviews and NEPA documentation processes
- Manage project budgets exceeding $5M and coordinate multi-agency stakeholder communications
- Develop innovative traffic flow solutions using advanced modeling software (VISSIM, Synchro)
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed infrastructure upgrades
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to WSDOT engineering standards
- Present technical findings to legislative committees and public hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years progressive transportation engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State
- Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D and transportation modeling software
- Demonstrated project management experience with DOT/Federal-Aid projects
- Strong knowledge of MUTCD, WSDOT design standards, and federal regulations
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills for technical and public audiences
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance for sensitive infrastructure data
