Responsibilities
- Design and oversee implementation of traffic signal systems and highway improvement projects
- Conduct traffic impact studies and analyze transportation data for infrastructure planning
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and contractor relationships for transportation initiatives
- Develop engineering reports and compliance documentation for state and federal regulations
- Coordinate with local government agencies and community stakeholders on transportation projects
- Implement GIS-based transportation modeling and analysis tools
- Lead field inspections and quality assurance for construction projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation engineering or traffic operations
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in traffic modeling software (Synchro, Vissim) and GIS applications (ArcGIS)
- Strong knowledge of FDOT standards and MUTCD regulations
- Experience with public project procurement and contract administration
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Florida driver's license
