Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects
- Conduct field inspections and compliance monitoring for road, bridge, and transit infrastructure
- Analyze traffic data, survey results, and environmental impact assessments
- Utilize CAD/GIS software to create and maintain transportation network maps
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and local government agencies
- Assist in developing transportation improvement plans and safety initiatives
- Prepare technical documentation and progress reports for regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Technology, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of transportation engineering or construction inspection experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS mapping applications
- Familiarity with NCDOT design standards and federal transportation regulations
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex technical data
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
