Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and drafting transportation infrastructure plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Conduct field inspections and collect traffic data for Nashville's roadways
- Analyze survey data and prepare technical documentation for DOT projects
- Coordinate with contractors and local municipalities on construction timelines
- Maintain digital records of transportation assets using GIS mapping systems
- Support environmental compliance reviews for state-funded projects
- Prepare cost estimates and progress reports for department leadership
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field
- 2+ years of CAD/GIS experience with transportation projects
- Tennessee Class C Driver's License (required within 30 days)
- Familiarity with TDOT design standards and MUTCD guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and engineering software
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Tennessee residency required at time of hire
