Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct thorough physical and electronic searches of passengers, baggage, and cargo
- Verify travel documents and identification against passenger manifests
- Maintain constant vigilance for suspicious activities and security threats
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security protocols
- Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent GED
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Valid U.S. driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn specialized screening technologies
