Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and physical inspections when necessary
- Monitor security checkpoints with constant vigilance to detect potential threats
- Manage passenger flow while maintaining efficient screening procedures
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities in accordance with TSA protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Enforce TSA regulations regarding prohibited items and traveler compliance
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse travelers
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency for operating security equipment
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull baggage weighing up to 70 pounds
