Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Conduct pat-down searches and body scans to identify potential threats
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identities
- Respond to security alarms and resolve suspicious items following TSA protocols
- Maintain orderly checkpoint operations while enforcing security procedures
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security technologies
