Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and property to detect prohibited items that could be used to commit terrorism or other criminal acts.
- Operate X-ray screening equipment and other security technology to identify threats hidden within luggage and cargo.
- Interact professionally with passengers to resolve security issues while maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Enforce TSA security regulations, policies, and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Assist in emergency response procedures and ensure a secure environment for all travelers.
- Complete all required training and certification modules to maintain security clearance.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation and security clearance.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Clear vision with or without corrective lenses.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn security screening software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
