Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and advanced imaging technology.
- Patrol security checkpoints and enforce security protocols to ensure the safety of the airport environment.
- Operate and monitor security screening equipment, including walk-through metal detectors and body scanners.
- Interact professionally with passengers, providing clear instructions and de-escalating tense situations.
- Conduct thorough bag searches and resolve alarm signals efficiently.
- Document all screening activities, incidents, and passenger interactions accurately.
- Collaborate with fellow officers to maintain a secure, orderly, and efficient flow of traffic at security checkpoints.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation, including a criminal history records check.
- Must pass a medical examination and a drug screening test.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
