Responsibilities
- Perform screening operations at security checkpoints to detect prohibited items and potential threats.
- Operate X-ray machines and Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) units to inspect carry-on baggage and cargo.
- Conduct pat-down searches and physical inspections of passengers and their belongings.
- Enforce security regulations, policies, and procedures consistently and fairly.
- Interact with the public in a professional, courteous, and customer-service-oriented manner.
- Document any security incidents, observations, or irregularities accurately.
- Assist in training new employees and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien (per 49 CFR 1572).
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English proficiently.
- Must pass a criminal history background check and a medical examination.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to undergo a drug screening test.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Secret Security Clearance.
