Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and additional screening protocols when required
- Operate and maintain complex security equipment while adhering to TSA standard operating procedures
- Identify and report prohibited items, suspicious behavior, and potential security threats
- Provide clear communication to travelers regarding security requirements and procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to resolve security incidents
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities and security events
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory
- Minimum age of 18 years at time of application
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Proficient in English communication (reading, writing, speaking)
- Valid state driver's license if operating airport vehicles
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
