Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct physical and electronic screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo
- Communicate effectively with travelers regarding security procedures and requirements
- Respond to security alerts and resolve screening discrepancies with professionalism
- Maintain accurate records of screening activities and security incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Adhere to TSA protocols, SOPs, and federal security regulations
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining security standards
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass thorough background check and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn technical systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
