Your Mission
As a Screener, you will be responsible for maintaining the security of the transportation system by protecting the traveling public and ensuring the integrity of the transportation infrastructure. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment utilizing state-of-the-art screening technology.
Responsibilities
- Operate Screening Equipment: Monitor and operate X-ray machines, Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT), and walk-through metal detectors to detect threats and prohibited items.
- Passenger Screening: Conduct thorough, non-intrusive screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo while strictly adhering to TSA security protocols and regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with travelers, providing clear instructions and assistance, particularly to passengers with mobility limitations or special needs.
- Security Enforcement: Identify security threats or anomalies, conduct secondary screenings when necessary, and enforce all security directives firmly and fairly.
- Documentation: Complete all required paperwork, including reports and logs, accurately and timely to maintain a secure operational record.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a diverse team to ensure smooth operations and rapid response to security situations.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required; permanent residents must possess a valid I-551 Permanent Resident Card.
- Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a federal background investigation, drug screening, and medical fitness for duty examination.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive motions as required by screening duties.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
