Responsibilities
- Perform rigorous screening operations on passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures to ensure compliance with federal laws and agency policies.
- Interact professionally with travelers, providing clear instructions and assistance in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Identify and resolve security threats, including prohibited items and potential hazards, while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Document screening activities and incidents accurately and thoroughly in accordance with TSA standards.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow officers and supervisors to maintain operational efficiency and safety.
- Adhere to all physical requirements, including standing for extended periods and lifting luggage weighing up to 70 pounds.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship and the ability to pass a rigorous background investigation and obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; official transcripts may be requested.
- Ability to pass a medical examination and a drug screening.
- Excellent vision (with or without correction) and the ability to distinguish colors.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts.
- Willingness to undergo and successfully complete training programs.
