About the Role:
As a TSA Security Screener, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of passengers, property, and aircraft. You will operate advanced screening equipment, conduct manual searches, and maintain a safe environment in high-volume areas.
Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology.
- Passenger Interaction: Communicate effectively and professionally with the traveling public to explain screening procedures and resolve issues calmly and efficiently.
- Security Protocols: Adhere strictly to all TSA security directives, regulations, and standard operating procedures to identify potential threats.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and report the operational status of screening equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations and handle sensitive matters with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
- Physical Duties: Stand for extended periods, walk continuously, and perform physical searches as required to maintain airport security.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen. You must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and medical assessment.
- Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
- Experience: Previous experience in security, customer service, or law enforcement is preferred but not always required; on-the-job training is provided.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long durations, and pass a medical fitness for duty test.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Availability: Must be available to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
