The Role:
As a TSA Security Screener, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security of the nation's transportation systems. You will be responsible for screening passengers, baggage, and cargo to detect any threats or prohibited items. This position requires a high level of focus, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of security.
Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for prohibited items.
- Passenger Interaction: Professionally and courteously interact with travelers, providing clear instructions and addressing inquiries regarding security procedures.
- Security Enforcement: Enforce all Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations and security directives to ensure compliance.
- Threat Detection: Identify and report any suspicious behavior, threats, or potential security breaches immediately to a supervisor.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on screening equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all necessary forms and reports related to screening activities and security incidents.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a TSA background investigation, including fingerprinting and a criminal history check.
- Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy bags, and pass a medical examination.
