Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for prohibited items and security threats using advanced screening equipment.
- Patrol screening lanes and maintain a high level of situational awareness to identify potential security risks.
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection equipment accurately and efficiently.
- Interact professionally with travelers, providing clear instructions and maintaining a courteous demeanor during high-pressure situations.
- Document screening findings and report any discrepancies or safety violations immediately to supervisors.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures in strict accordance with federal laws and TSA directives.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth airport operations and minimal passenger wait times.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship is required for this position.
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening, and medical fitness examination.
- Ability to pass a Vision Test (corrected vision is acceptable).
- Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions precisely.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
