Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo for prohibited items using advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures to prevent threats to transportation security.
- Interact professionally and courteously with the traveling public and airport staff to resolve concerns.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and detect potential security breaches or anomalies.
- Conduct random and thorough searches of individuals and property to ensure compliance.
- Operate and maintain screening equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with fellow screeners to maintain a safe and efficient flow of operations.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting and a security investigation.
- Ability to pass a medical examination, including vision and hearing tests.
- Must meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and walking.
- No disqualifying criminal history per TSA regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
