Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for prohibited items using X-ray machines and metal detectors.
- Operate advanced imaging technology and document readers in strict compliance with TSA regulations.
- Interact professionally and courteously with the traveling public, providing clear instructions and assistance.
- Verify identity and credentials to ensure proper authorization for travel.
- Maintain a high level of situational awareness and report any suspicious activities or security breaches immediately.
- Perform bag searches and physical screenings when necessary to ensure compliance.
- Adhere to all TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods without difficulty.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
