Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray equipment and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for prohibited items and potential threats.
- Passenger Interaction: Professionally and courteously communicate with passengers to ensure compliance with security procedures while maintaining a focus on safety.
- Threat Detection: Identify and report security anomalies, weapons, or dangerous materials to supervisors and law enforcement agencies.
- Security Compliance: Adhere strictly to all TSA regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and security directives to maintain a secure checkpoint environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a diverse team environment to maintain efficient checkpoint operations and reduce passenger wait times.
- Physical Duties: Perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and moving luggage weighing up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required for all federal positions.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history check and a drug screen.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is preferred.
- Physical Health: Must be able to pass a medical examination and meet specific physical requirements (e.g., good vision, ability to stand for long durations).
