Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques
- Operate advanced security technology including CT scanners and explosive detection systems
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections as authorized by security protocols
- Monitor airport checkpoints to detect suspicious behavior and security threats
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing TSA regulations with professionalism
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Must be at least 18 years old at time of appointment
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse environments
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- No felony convictions and acceptable employment history
