Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and manual search techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect prohibited items and ensure compliance with TSA regulations
- Interact professionally with travelers providing exceptional customer service while maintaining security protocols
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities through detailed reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Operate advanced screening equipment and maintain security awareness in high-traffic environments
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay current on security procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass extensive background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Flexible availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
