Job Overview
As a Security Screener, you will be the first line of defense in aviation security. You will utilize state-of-the-art screening technology to identify threats and ensure the safety of millions of passengers traveling through San Francisco every day.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and checked luggage using X-ray machines and advanced imaging technology.
- Identify and prevent the transportation of prohibited items, including weapons, explosives, and other hazardous materials.
- Interact professionally with the public, enforcing security regulations with a calm and firm demeanor.
- Assist passengers with special needs while maintaining strict security standards.
- Monitor screening equipment for malfunctions and report technical issues to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure workspace in accordance with safety protocols.
- Collaborate with a diverse team to ensure efficient screening operations and minimize passenger wait times.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a mandatory TSA background investigation, fingerprinting, and security interview.
- Must pass a medical examination and a drug screening.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, sound decisions.
