Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and property at airport checkpoints to detect threats to transportation security.
- Conduct thorough pat-downs and body scans while maintaining a high standard of customer service and professionalism.
- Operate X-ray screening equipment and other security devices to accurately identify prohibited items and potential hazards.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures strictly and consistently to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist passengers with travel documents and resolve security-related issues with patience and efficiency.
- Collaborate with fellow security officers to maintain a secure, orderly, and efficient checkpoint environment.
- Remain alert to suspicious activity and report anomalies immediately to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National, or Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
- Must be willing and able to undergo a federal security background investigation and obtain a Transportation Security Clearance.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a medical examination, including drug screening.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds for extended periods.
- Good vision, with or without the use of corrective lenses.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
