Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo for prohibited items and security threats using advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment.
- Enforce security regulations and procedures to ensure the safety of the traveling public and airport personnel.
- Assist passengers with accessibility needs and provide excellent customer service in high-volume environments.
- Operate and maintain security screening equipment, including CT X-ray machines and metal detectors.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and report suspicious activities or unattended packages immediately.
- Collaborate with fellow officers and supervisors to maintain a secure and orderly checkpoint environment.
- Perform emergency response duties and participate in security drills and training exercises.
Qualifications
- United States Citizenship is required for this position.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background investigation, including a fingerprint-based criminal history check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must pass a medical examination to ensure physical ability to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
