Responsibilities
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration programs with strict adherence to state/federal laws
- Oversee record management, document retention, and public information requests (CPRA compliance)
- Prepare and maintain official city council agendas, minutes, and legislative documentation
- Manage municipal codes, ordinances, and legislative tracking systems
- Serve as the official custodian of city records and official city seal
- Coordinate oaths of office, public appointments, and ceremonial city functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal clerk or public records management experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months
- Expert knowledge of California Elections Code, CPRA, and Brown Act regulations
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Proven experience managing high-volume public records requests and appeals
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance for legal documents
