Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret evolving federal/state/municipal regulations affecting city operations
- Conduct comprehensive audits of departmental compliance protocols
- Develop/implement corrective action plans for identified regulatory gaps
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for executive leadership and oversight committees
- Coordinate with legal counsel and external regulatory agencies
- Train staff on updated compliance procedures and best practices
- Lead emergency response initiatives during regulatory crises
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Law, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years government compliance/regulatory experience
- Valid Texas government security clearance (or ability to obtain immediately)
- Advanced proficiency in regulatory databases (e.g., FedReg, Texas Register)
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or equivalent certification
- Demonstrated crisis management and high-pressure decision-making
- Expert knowledge of Texas municipal codes and federal regulations
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with stakeholders
