Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain VA-specific electronic health record systems (EHR) across medical facilities
- Coordinate cybersecurity protocols for sensitive veteran health data
- Train clinical staff on new healthcare IT systems and workflows
- Lead system integration projects between VA and external healthcare providers
- Conduct regular system audits and performance optimization
- Develop disaster recovery plans for critical health IT infrastructure
- Collaborate with IT leadership on strategic health technology initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare IT systems implementation
- VA-specific EHR certification (Vista, CPRS) or equivalent EHR experience
- Active CISSP or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Experience with HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy regulations
- Project management certification (PMP) or equivalent experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
