Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the city's network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local government IT security policies and regulations.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for government employees and public-facing systems.
- Oversee the deployment and configuration of new software and hardware assets within the municipal budget.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to protect sensitive citizen data.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and drive digital transformation initiatives.
- Respond to critical IT incidents with a focus on rapid resolution and business continuity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a related government role.
- Current possession of or the ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance (Secret/Top Secret).
- Strong working knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and virtualization.
- Familiarity with public sector grant management systems and procurement processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between city facilities if required.
