Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain network security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of municipal systems
- Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents with documented remediation procedures
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity training for city employees
- Manage compliance with federal/state regulations (FISMA, NIST)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security architecture projects
- Document security policies and incident response plans
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT security
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security automation
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud security frameworks
- Valid Colorado driver's license
- Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance
