Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Accurately sort incoming mail and packages by size, shape, and destination using automated machinery and manual sorting techniques.
- Load and Unload Trucks: Safely load and unload mail from delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling of packages and heavy parcels.
- Route Delivery: Deliver mail to residential and business addresses along assigned routes, ensuring all items are placed in the correct slots or handed to the recipient.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate postal vehicles and maintain them in good working condition, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, answer inquiries, and resolve any issues regarding missed or misdelivered mail.
- Physical Stamina: Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods in all weather conditions.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and security protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Residency Status: U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is mandatory for security clearance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy and ability to operate handheld scanners and sorting equipment.
- Attitude: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
