URGENT VACANCY: Apex Federal Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Specialist to join our team in San Jose, CA. This is an immediate hire opportunity for a motivated professional to support critical federal government missions. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and functionality of federal information systems in a fast-paced environment.
As a key member of our federal practice, you will collaborate with government stakeholders to modernize legacy systems and implement cutting-edge cybersecurity protocols.
Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers supporting federal agencies.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Enforce NIST 800-171 and DIACAP compliance standards to protect sensitive data.
- Network Support: Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize bandwidth for critical operations.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system diagrams and incident reports.
- Incident Response: Lead the response to security incidents and perform forensic analysis when required.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with third-party vendors and contractors to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in federal IT contracting or government service.
- Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance preferred (Secret clearance required).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting to government officials.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
