Responsibilities
- System Administration: Manage and optimize server infrastructure, virtualization environments, and network protocols within the state network.
- Cybersecurity Oversight: Implement and monitor advanced security measures to defend against cyber threats and ensure compliance with federal standards (FISMA).
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical teams in resolving complex system outages and performing system upgrades and migrations.
- Project Management: Oversee IT project lifecycles, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence for state-wide initiatives.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and system diagrams.
- Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and government officials.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications: Active CISSP, Security+, or GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Server environments, Linux administration, and cloud technologies (Azure/AWS).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to senior leadership.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours during critical system maintenance windows.
