We are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Analyst to join the City of Milwaukee’s Department of Technology. Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex IT infrastructure issues to ensure 99.9% uptime for government services.
- Design, configure, and maintain network environments, including servers, firewalls, and cloud-based solutions.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders to translate technical requirements into scalable IT solutions.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local data security regulations and privacy laws.
- Conduct regular system audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement necessary patches.
- Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support and training to internal city departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in systems analysis, network administration, or IT support.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cybersecurity best practices, and disaster recovery planning.
- Experience working within a government or large enterprise environment is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screening.
