Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including snowplows, graders, and trenchers
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Respond to emergency weather conditions and infrastructure failures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Participate in community outreach initiatives related to public works
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Wisconsin Commercial Driver's License (Class B) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years experience in municipal construction or maintenance
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Must pass background check and pre-employment physical
